Let me introduce my family...

Penny was rescued from a shelter in South Florida. She was found in an abandoned property. She was estimated to already be 1 1/2 years old but she weighed no more than 4 lbs. I bought her as a gift for my boyfriend who loves cats. She was super shy and just looked so cuddly. Little did we know that over the next few weeks she would suffer from a horrible respiratory infection. After several respiratory treatments she was on the road to being healthy. We also had to address her severe malnourishment. She needed to gain more weight- you could feel her ribs so easily. Today, Penny is a little over 6 years old and only weighs 6 1/2 lbs. She is still an itty bitty. Her personality is full blown, she loves to talk and show you her food bowl. She loves to be patted while eating and enjoys some good blanket monster games. She loves to sleep directly on you and will paw your face (when your sleeping) when she wants attention.

Oliver aka Ollie was rescued from a New Orleans shelter as a stray. He was trouble even before adoption-he had eaten his stitches from his surgery. Sometimes his wide orange eyes and his slender triangle face makes him look like an alien. I guess this is what makes him so adorable. How can you get angry with this face? Ollie was adopted when he was seven months old. I was living in a studio apartment at the time and he became my little cuddle bug. He has some interesting tendencies- opening cabinets, opening doors, running on the kitchen cabinets and howling, and he plays fetch. Oliver is now almost four and he also enjoys waking me up at night. Every few months his scratch fetish changes- first it was the mattress behind our heads; next he liked to get on the dresser and knock items over, then it was the end of the bed, now he likes to scratch outlet covers, any random part of the wall, and the dresser draws. Aside from his raging night life he is super sweet, very outgoing, talkative, cuddly, and brings a lot of joy to our lives.

Barty our youngest, just turned two in April, he is the youngest and biggest at 17lbs. Bart was my first foster fail. I fostered his 3 littermates. They were all sick and had hookworms. Bart was in the worse condition and became lethargic one evening and almost passed away. It was extremely scary and very upsetting. His road to recovery was about two months. I went on vacation for a week and decided when I returned that I wanted to adopt Bart. Bart had bonded with Ollie and I had developed a very special bond with him as well. I knew he would make a great addition to our family. He is very independent and will demand attention on his own time, yet he is like a shadow and follows you everywhere. He loves to chirp like a bird and follow his big brother around. They are inseparable, their cuddles together makes my heart melt.

Why I Became a Senegence Independent Distributor and What I think?

I wanted to share my story about why I decided to join SeneGence as an Independent Distributor. I researched many forums and went on Facebook and YouTube to learn more about SeneGence and it's products. I got introduced to the company through a friend who was selling just LipSense at the time. I love the LipSense product and gloss! I never previously wore lipstick at all and I just started to wear it more and more because of my corporate work environment. The LipSense is long-lasting, no need for reapplication of color just some gloss. Other lipsticks leave marks and you have to reapply. Plus other lipsticks contain not-so-healthy ingredients.

I really wanted to be conscious of what I was putting on my body and SeneGence products do not contain any animal by-product and are not tested on animals. Their values spoke to mine which made me more intrigued with their products. So I decided to join as a member which gave me a discount to buying different products.

At the time I joined the company, they were going through some growing pains and were still negotiating contracts with suppliers. Products were limited but the excitement of being part of this new team surrounded by awesome women was just so much fun.

I am by no means a make-up expert and still can't even explain certain application techniques but I have learned so much about make-up and safe ingredients. If you love make-up then this might be a good company for you, you can buy discounted product for yourself and then also sell it.

The biggest cons I found as an Independent Distributor are maintaining inventory, not a lot of training for owning your own business, not a lot of structure for support, and I found that this sales technique puts me way outside of my comfort zone. Inventory can be expensive- but to be successful you need inventory to do demos, parties, vendor events, etc... If you already have a good customer base- pre-orders can help eliminate the burden of holding inventory.

I wish there was more formal support to help empower distributors on owning their own business. The company is growing so fast their are so many new distributors involved it is hard to receive new communications and people are also leaving the business so it can be hard to receive support or guidance. There are also a lot of restrictions on where you can sell and this limits the opportunities of your business potential.

Most importantly, I discovered I am not a sales person, especially not in this fashion. It took awhile to be comfortable with posting selfies of myself to help sell the product or coming up with other creative ways to sell. I dislike soliciting and that was another common form of sales. Your opportunity is what you make of it- you ultimately will get out, what you put into the business.

One distributor above me was making six figures, had already two paid vacations by the company, and many other perks. She started her journey with the company to have a more flexible work schedule for her family but the demand in which we are communicated to sell and continue to push for parties and demos takes more time away. She has sense left the company so that she can enjoy more time with her family.

This company wont be for everyone and I have decided it doesn't quite fit my style of what I want to pursue as a business. I will continue to sell my inventory and probably will continue to use the products for personal use.

If you are interested in products or questions about the business let me know.
